Design and Compliance Consultation Services

Design, then build.

Waterproofing Integrity offer design compliance consultation on waterproofing systems and applications to ensure that the requirements of the National Construction Code, Australian Standards and the material suppliers specifications are met. As a waterproofing consultant, we are working with architects, Tier 1, Tier 2 and Tier 3 construction companies, developers and other industry professionals to ensure compliance.

STATE BASED REQUIREMENTS AND CONSIDERATIONS

NSW

The introduction of the NSW Design and Building Practitioners Act 2020 and the role of the NSW Building Commissioner imposed ensuring the correct designs, compatibility and compliance in issued for construction drawings had greater accountability. Waterproofing Integrity have assisted on more than 750 multi-residential projects in NSW since the legislation came into effect to ensure effective waterproofing design compliance. We apply our effective process to see best results are achieved in Class 2, Class 3, Class 9c and mixed-use projects that fall under the legislation and any other project not under the legislation that we work on otherwise.

VICTORIA

While not yet following all of NSW measures, Victoria is imposing greater accountability for developers from 1 July 2026 with percentage-based bonds and an obligation for rectification orders for up to 10 years post completion. One way to avoid defects is to get it right during design and during construction.

ACT

The ACT will have similar obligations for developers from 1 October 2026 with ultimate accountability bestowed on them for the development and all those that they engage to deliver it. Waterproofing Integrity are already working with a range of ACT multi-residential projects to mitigate defects and see effective design considerations.

QUEENSLAND

Our Brisbane office are able to assist to the level seen in neighbouring NSW or to your project requirements. With the 2032 Olympics on the horizon, the appetite for a lot of construction need not be at the expense of quality design documentation and construction that leave defects in its wake.

ELSEWHERE

While our resources are Australian East Coast based at this time, we are able to assist elsewhere, and have done. Having worked on current or previous projects in Adelaide, Perth and Auckland (NZ), we see no restriction in being able to assist in these and other areas.

If there is anything that you require specifically, please reach out and we can discuss.
