THERMAL PHOTOGRAPHY

Thermal Photography .png

Thermal Photography is used by Waterproofing Integrity in a variety of settings to determine variances in temperature.

Waterproofing Integrity use thermal photography in diagnostic inspections and maintenance inspections.

This test is a non-destructive type of testing and is an invaluable resource for predictive maintenance to assess flat roofs for saturated insulation and entrapped moisture. This allows industrial building owners to make an informed decision to action any defects identified to extend the life span of your roof.

Thermography is used to identify temperature variances which can provide indication of the presence of moisture undergoing the evaporation process. Evaporation is an endothermic process that absorbs heat from the surrounding area while converting liquid moisture into gas. A thermographic imager can identify these cold points as locations of potential moisture that can then be confirmed using a moisture meter device.

Similarly, when an object or material contains moisture it will gain and lose heat energy at a different rate to the same dry material.  As an environment cycles through low and high temperatures a thermal camera will identify inconsistent temperature of a material as an indicator of moisture.
